Aftercare & Livelihood
.jpg)
Every year, over 50,000 youth above the age of 18 exit Child Care Institutions (CCIs) in India, often without a structured exit plan or support system. With limited government assistance and only a handful of NGOs working on aftercare for Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP), these young adults face serious challenges. Many are pushed into low-skilled, poorly paid jobs or compromised career paths due to low educational qualifications. Particularly vulnerable are girls, who are often married off post-deinstitutionalization, restricting their independence and future opportunities.
